Benefits of B.O.O.S.T.© for Students (Grades 9 to l2)

Students learn the value of barter and can identify with the resources in their own school, community, field of interest AS EARLY AS GRADE 9.  Bartering at a young school grade enables them to:

  1. Reinforce skills learned in and out of school and make informed career choices and transition into the world of work, post secondary school (College, University, Apprenticeship Programs)
  2. Guidance Counselors/Teachers have a better understanding of individual students' and can better identify strengths/weaknesses through real-world barter experiences;
  3. Students have a much better understanding of who they are, what they want/do not want in a job/career/employer/salary expectations; and
  4. Real world experience in the career of choice PRIOR to investing $$$$$$'s in post secondary education means INFORMED career choices and job expectations thus alleviating the cost of INDECISION that is typical among students of this age group.
  5. Learn the value of identifying a need, investing or acquiring new skills to add service/value to society, so you can gain to continue on a project/interest that may lead you to a certain field of education, increase chances of getting into that College or University, go over and beyond what you can't individually.
